Overcoming doubt and protecting Faith

God is so amazing! Today in our services, God hit me with one of those divine two by fours. He has called Wil and I to step up his calling for us. Yes this means that we are going into ministry. God has alot of awesome things on the way for us and "The Sanctuary". For those of you that have known us, God has called us to open up a "Coffee type" ministry for young and old, saved and unsaved. This is to be a safe haven for people. There will be praise and worship, live christian music, bands, coffee and healing!
Please pray for us as we head up this journey!

I saw this the other day while doing devotions, It really touched me and needed to be shared!
Blessings to all!!!!

Faith is the belief in things not experienced by the senses. Hebrews 11:6 tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God. This brings the subject of faith into clearer focus. We must believe that God can and will effect our lives on a everyday basis in order to have the type of relationship with him that we desire. The Bible is filled with accounts of men and women who through faith achieved the seemingly unachievable. Romans 10:17 tells us faith comes by hearing. So today we must use the Bible to reinforce, reaffirm, and protect our faith. Doubt of course is the lack of faith so we realize that one of our biggest challenges as Christians is to overcome the doubt that is within us.
Read Hebrews chapter eleven. Now that we know faith comes by hearing we can look to people of faith from the Bible. It is important to remember that by understanding the importance of faith in the past we can better understand its importance today.
Read James chapter one verse six through eight. This gives us insight to the importance of faith in prayer. James tells us very plainly not to expect answered prayers without faith. Realize you are the Lord’s child. He wants to guide, help, and bless you. So every time you go to the Father in the name of the Son it is imperative you do so with the belief that he can, wants to, and will answer your prayer.
Read Matthew chapter fourteen verse twenty-eight through thirty-one. Notice Peter had enough faith to climb out of the boat and walked upon the water while he focused on Jesus but when he realized what he was doing was “impossible” he began to sink. This is a lesson to us that if we keep our focus on Jesus and not be overcome by the storms of our lives what we can do through Christ is limitless.
Read John chapter twenty verse twenty-four through twenty-nine. Here John illustrates that Thomas would not believe Jesus had been resurrected until he saw and touched him. We must guard ourselves from this type of “faith”. Remember “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen“. Living a life of faith means knowing the truth without relying on what you can see or touch. Belief upon what your senses perceive is not faith.
Read 2 Peter chapter one verse sixteen through twenty-one. Peter tells us here that the Bible is given by inspiration of God. So faith in the Bible is faith in God. We can grow our faith and overpower doubt by reading and studying the Word of God.
Read Proverbs chapter eighteen verse twenty-one. Here we find that what we speak has more of an impact than we sometimes think. In order to overcome doubt we must not speak doubt. If we speak that something is impossible than that has become impossible to you but remember Jesus said all things are possible with God.
Read Romans chapter ten verse eight through eleven. Paul explains here our end prize for a life of faith. Remember doubt is not from the Lord. It is not his intention that we for one second doubt in his power, his love, or the redemption that his son our Savior gave us on the cross. We must remember always to read in faith, pray in faith, and speak in faith.
